The PS5 version still exists on paper, but only the PC version has a date. Early Access starts on Steam on November 3, 2026 at $29.99. No console date is part of that announcement.

The PlayStation Reveal

ArcheAge Chronicles was unveiled during the PlayStation State of Play broadcast on September 24, 2024. It was formerly known as ArcheAge II. XLGAMES and Kakao Games presented it for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series and PC, with a 2025 window.

The reveal promised a seamless open world, revamped action combat, and a player-driven economy with housing and crafting professions, built in Unreal Engine 5. The official PlayStation announce trailer is linked in the sources below.

What Happened to the 2025 Window

The 2025 target slipped into 2026. In June 2026, financial communications still pointed to Q4 2026, and Kakao Games' August results listed the game for Q4 2026 on PC and consoles, globally.

Only the PC Early Access has an actual date. Coverage of the Early Access announcement says consoles will come further down the line. See the release date page for the full timeline.

Why Consoles Come Later

XLGAMES is using Early Access to shape the game with player feedback. It expects Early Access to last roughly 9 to 12 months. A console release is generally expected after that, but no date has been confirmed.

The Steam page lists what the full release will add: more regions, more gender options, a third weapon per class and balance work. The Early Access guide covers those plans.

Could PS5 Players Try the Demo?

No. The Steam Next Fest demo from October 19 to 26 was PC only. Testers noted that the game is coming to PS5 and Xbox, but the demo was not.

Nobody outside the studio has shown how the game runs on PS5 yet. Any performance claims for the console version are guesses.

Playing Now With a Controller

If you have a gaming PC, the Steam version lists controller support, so you can play with a gamepad. The minimum PC spec is Windows 10 64-bit, an RTX 2060 SUPER or RX 6600, 16 GB of RAM and a 100 GB SSD.

What PS5 Players Will Get Eventually

The game will be the same open-world action MMORPG. You join a trading company in Auroria and fight with action combat across four classes. It also includes housing, crafting, trading and opt-in PvP.

By the time consoles arrive, more content may be added from the Early Access roadmap. We will update this page as soon as XLGAMES announces a PS5 date. Meanwhile, the Xbox page tracks the other console.

What Console Players Can Learn From the Xbox Listing

Only the Xbox version has a public console store page so far. It lists features such as online co-op, Xbox cross-platform multiplayer, 4K Ultra HD, HDR10, ray tracing, keyboard and mouse support, and cloud saves. It is rated Mature 17+.

Those details describe the Xbox listing, not the PS5 version. Sony has not published a matching PS5 product page with a price or date. See the Xbox page for the full listing.

What Early Access Includes Today

The PC version gives a preview of what console players are waiting for. Early Access has three regions, Diamond Shores, Gylden Ruins and Astron Plains, with more than 60 areas. Four classes, Warrior, Ranger, Berserker and Mage, each have two weapons.

Main quests alone take more than 30 hours across the three regions. Dungeons, raids, opt-in PvP, housing, crafting and trading are all included. Read the Early Access guide and the classes guide for details.
