Why There Is No Real Tier List Yet
Early Access launches on November 3, 2026 with 4 classes and 8 weapons. The only hands-on data comes from the network test and the one-week Steam Next Fest demo. Guides agree there is not enough verified data for a definitive PvE or PvP tier list.
Balance has also already shifted. The producer's letter lists tuning made before launch, and XLGAMES says it will keep improving combat balance throughout Early Access. Every class will also get a third weapon over time, which could change the picture again.
Community Picks by Class
The list below sums up opinions from the demo, not measured data. It is ordered by how often testers recommended each class to new players. Use it as a starting point, not a verdict.
- Warrior (Longsword): the safest, most rewarding all-rounder, thanks to parry-into-counter play. Good for new players and group play.
- Ranger (Hatchet or Longbow): the most mobile class. The Hatchet is praised as a strong aggressive weapon, and the class is popular for PvP.
- Berserker (Axe & Shield or Warhammer): heavy, impactful and sturdy, and good for solo PvE. Some testers found it rough in the demo.
- Mage (Elemental Staff or Wavesword): high damage and control but low survivability. It is the hardest to learn, and many demo players felt it was rough.
Best Class for New Players
If you are undecided, the Warrior is the pick most guides call the safest overall. The Longsword sits in the middle ground, with a lot of offensive power plus plenty of parries and counters. That forgiving defense helps while you learn the stamina and dodge system.
Note that the Warrior is male only at launch. The female Warrior arrives in the December 2026 update. If you want to play a female character right away, the Ranger is the more forgiving of the two female-only classes.
Best Class for PvP and PvE
For PvP, the Ranger is the most common recommendation because of its mobility. The Hatchet lets you close in, evade and counter, while the Longbow lets you kite. PvP in Early Access is opt-in, so you can learn your class first; see the PvP guide.
For solo PvE, guides point to the Berserker's sturdiness. For group play, the Warrior and the Mage are suggested. There is no healer in Early Access, so every class has to manage its own survival.
Balance Changes Before Early Access
XLGAMES tuned several weapons after the playtests, so demo impressions may already be out of date. Bosses now also resist skills that scale with maximum HP. Here is what was changed:
- Wall of Fire: damage reduced
- Wavesword: rebalanced
- Longbow: Fire Arrow reworked
- Warhammer, Hatchet and Elemental Staff lightning skills: tuned
- Berserker's Forceful Lunge: tuned
Pick the Weapon That Feels Right
The best advice from both XLGAMES and testers is the same: pick the weapon that feels good to you. The producer encourages players to try different weapons and find their own style. Two weapons in the same class can play completely differently.
Before you write a class off, play both of its weapons for a proper session. The Mage in particular rewards memorizing its trait tree, and some skills on other classes cost a lot of SP. Our classes guide describes every weapon, and the builds guide covers stats.
How This Page Will Change
Once Early Access is live and players reach higher levels, more reliable comparisons will appear. We will update this page as balance patches and the new third weapons arrive. Until then, rankings published elsewhere are opinions based on a short demo.
If you have tested a class in Early Access and found something different, tell us through the contact page. We list what is verified and mark opinions clearly.
